On 09/09/2023 Sandwich Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of W. Center St. and Joles St, Sandwich. After further investigation the driver, Gilbert M. Deluna, 43 of Aurora, Illinois, was suspected of being under the influence. Deluna was placed under arrest and processed at the Sandwich Police Department. Deluna was unable to post bond and was transported to the DeKalb County Jail in Sycamore, Illinois. Deluna was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC of > .08.
