SRO Bright was the mystery reader today at Haskin School for Mrs. Schmitt’s kindergarten class. He brought along a few friends, and we had a great time hanging out.

Officer Dwyer and Officer Hegland thought they were at the beach today and fully embraced their inner Top Gun, requesting everyone refer to them as “Maverick” and “Goose” for the duration of the game.

Eventually, staff convinced them to put their shirts back on.

They ran into some tough competition though. Gladiators “Slider” and “Ice Man” gave them all they could handle. In the end, everyone made it out alive.

It may take Maverick and Goose a little while to get the baby oil washed off, but all things considered, it was a good day.

We’ll see you next time on American Chair Volleyball Gladiators.

Officer Vaughn and Explorer Johnson also made their chair volleyball debut (Gladiator names TBD).

👏👏 Please help us welcome our newest Police Officer to the force - Devin Vaughn! We are excited to get her rolling. This week she will be taking care of in-house administrative tasks before heading to the Police Academy for 16 weeks of training. Once she returns she will hit the streets with our experienced Field Training Officers for another 12 weeks of “hands on” training. 👏👏

We stopped by Fox Valley Community Services today and accidentally stepped into the arena…

Waiting for us were the American Chair Volleyball Gladiators:

Becky “The Smasher”
Jim “The Junkyard Dog”
Sherri “The Striker”

Bad idea.

Within minutes, our officers went from confident…to survival mode. These three brought the heat and had us questioning all of our life choices.

Safe to say…we were not ready.

Awesome time with an even better group. We’ll be back…after some training. 💪
