👊 Fist Bump Friday!

Sergeant Whitecotton and Officer Vaughn were at Sandwich Middle School this morning greeting students and kicking off their Friday with a fist bump!

Every Friday, our officers will be visiting different schools around the community to wish students a happy Friday and start their day off on a positive note.

🚔 Welcome, Officer Serriteno

The Sandwich Police Department is proud to welcome our newest officer, Officer Serriteno, who was officially sworn in by Mayor Latham.

Officer Serriteno will head to the police academy this Sunday, where he will begin 16 weeks of training as he takes the next step in his law enforcement career.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Serriteno to the Sandwich Police Department and wishing him the best of luck at the academy.

🚲⚡ With e-bikes becoming more popular in our community, check out this helpful information from our friends over at the Sycamore Police Department!

Ride safe and stay informed!

🍂 Fall is all about education — and getting ready for what’s coming in 2027! 🚲🛴

The Sycamore Police Department will be focusing on education and awareness of the new Illinois e-bike and e-scooter laws throughout the fall. Our goal is to help riders understand the current rules, ride safely, and share the road.

📅 Important change coming January 1, 2027: New Illinois requirements will take effect for e-bikes and e-scooters.

Between now and January, officers will be focused on educating riders, answering questions, and addressing violations when necessary — giving everyone an opportunity to understand the law.

🚲 Know the law. Ride safely. Share the road.

Please take a moment to review the information in the graphic and share it with the riders in your family and community.

ATTENTION

The Sandwich Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 1300 block of North Wind Blvd. in the Fairwinds Subdivision on Saturday, August 22.

We are asking residents in the area with Ring cameras or other home surveillance systems to please review their footage between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM for any suspicious activity, specifically a dark-colored SUV or a dark-skinned male of unknown race in the area.

If you have video footage or information that may assist with the investigation, please contact Detective Rominski at krominski@sandwich.il.us.

Even if something seems minor, it may be helpful to the investigation. Thank you for your assistance.
