March is Social Work Month, and we want to take a moment to recognize the critical role social workers play in supporting our community.
Every day, social workers provide compassion, guidance, and resources to individuals and families facing difficult situations—from mental health crises to housing challenges and beyond. Their work not only changes lives, but strengthens the overall safety and well-being of our community.
We are also proud to highlight our department’s recently implemented Social Worker Program. By partnering trained social workers alongside our officers, we are better equipped to respond to calls involving mental health, substance use, and other complex social issues with the care and expertise they deserve. This collaborative approach helps ensure that people receive the right support at the right time.
Please join us in thanking our social workers for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to making a difference every single day.

The Sandwich Police Explorers Program is now accepting applications of motivated individuals ages 14–20 who want to challenge themselves, develop leadership skills, and learn what it takes to work in law enforcement.
As an Explorer you will:
🔹 Participate in hands-on police training
🔹 Learn radio communication and investigations
🔹 Train in realistic law enforcement scenarios
🔹 Build teamwork and leadership skills
🔹 Assist with community events
🔹 Experience the profession firsthand
This program is a commitment, but it is also a great opportunity to gain experience, build confidence, and grow as a leader.
