The Sycamore Police Department will be focusing on education and awareness of the new Illinois e-bike and e-scooter laws throughout the fall. Our goal is to help riders understand the current rules, ride safely, and share the road.
📅 Important change coming January 1, 2027: New Illinois requirements will take effect for e-bikes and e-scooters.
Between now and January, officers will be focused on educating riders, answering questions, and addressing violations when necessary — giving everyone an opportunity to understand the law.

The Sandwich Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 1300 block of North Wind Blvd. in the Fairwinds Subdivision on Saturday, August 22.
We are asking residents in the area with Ring cameras or other home surveillance systems to please review their footage between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM for any suspicious activity, specifically a dark-colored SUV or a dark-skinned male of unknown race in the area.
If you have video footage or information that may assist with the investigation, please contact Detective Rominski at krominski@sandwich.il.us.

🎓🚔 Congratulations, Officer Vaughn!
Yesterday, Officer Vaughn officially graduated from the 16-week police academy, marking the completion of months of hard work, training, and dedication.
Today, she trades the academy classroom for the streets of Sandwich as she begins her first day on the road and officially starts her field training!
Please join us in congratulating Officer Vaughn on this accomplishment and welcoming her to the next chapter of her law enforcement career. We’re excited to have her serving the Sandwich community!

Sergeant Meisner and Midnight Shift A recently completed their annual Walk and Talk in the Sandhurst Subdivision!
Our Walk and Talk events give us an opportunity to connect directly with our residents, hear about any concerns they may have, and learn what they think we’re doing well. Building strong relationships with the community we serve continues to be one of our priorities.
As always, the Sandwich Police Department is available 24/7 if you have any questions or concerns. We’re always here to listen and help.
