On 03/10/24 Officers responded to the 300-block of N. Latham St, Sandwich, for a domestic disturbance. After further investigation it was determined that James Pugh, 37 years old of Sandwich, Illinois, had committed a Domestic Battery. Pugh had barricaded himself inside the residence and made threats to harm a small child that was also inside of the residence. Officers made entry and after a brief struggle placed Pugh under arrest. Pugh was transported to the DeKalb County Jail in Sycamore, Illinois for housing. Pugh was charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery (Strangulation – Class 2 Felony), Domestic Battery (with prior convictions -Class 3 Felony), Domestic Battery (2 counts – Class A Misdemeanor), and Resisting a Peace Officer (Class A Misdemeanor). The investigation is on going. Additional charges may be filed at a later date.
