On 03/18/25 Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of W. Church St. and Gletty Rd, Sandwich. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the driver, John C. McNamara, 38-year-old of Yorkville, Illinois, possessed an active McLean County for failing to appear on a charge of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence. McNamara was placed under arrest for the warrant. Upon further investigation, McNamara was subsequently charged with Possession of a Firearm without a Requisite F.O.I.D. Card (Class 3 Felony). After processing McNamara he was able to post bond on the McLean County warrant and was issued a future court date in Bloomington, Illinois. McNamara was released on a Notice to Appear at a future DeKalb County court date in Sycamore, Illinois for the possession of a firearm with a revoked F.O.I.D. Card charge.
