On 8/17/2023 Sandwich Officers conducted a check status on an individual that was reported as being passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 900 block of E. Arnold St. After further investigation it was determined that Michael Ryan, 63 of Sandwich, Illinois, was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol while in control of a motor vehicle. Ryan was placed under arrest and processed at the Sandwich Police Department. Ryan was unable to post bond and was transported to the DeKalb County Jail for housing. Ryan was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and No Valid Driver’s License.
