On 09/01/25 Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of the 200-block of W. Church St, Sandwich. Upon further investigation it was suspected that the driver, Daniel Hotopp, 23 years old of Sandwich, Illinois, was under the influence. Hotopp was placed under arrest and transported to the Sandwich Police Department for processing. Hotopp was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over .08 and released with a Notice to Appear at a future DeKalb County court date in Sycamore, Illinois.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
