On 08/27/25 Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of W. 1st St. and Joles St, Sandwich. Upon further investigation it was suspected that the driver, Nicholas Spies, 36 years old of Sandwich, Illinois, was under the influence. Spies was placed under arrest and transported to the Sandwich Police Department for processing. Spies was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and released with a Notice to Appear at a future DeKalb County court date in Sycamore, Illinois.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
