On 8/26/2023 Sandwich Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of S. County Line Rd and Gletty Rd, Sandwich. Upon further investigation it was suspected that the driver, Lorena Quiterio, 23 of Chicago, Illinois, was driving under the influence of alcohol. Quiterio was placed under arrest and transported to the Sandwich Police Department for processing. After processing, Quiterio posted bond and was released with a future DeKalb County court date in Sycamore, Illinois. Quiterio was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over .08.
