On July 8th, 2023 Sandwich Officers responded to the area of E. Church St. and Latham St. for a motor vehicle accident. Upon further investigation the driver of one of the vehicles involved was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol. Anthony D. Villalpando, 20 of Plano, Illinois, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol with a BAC over .08, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, and Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. Villalpando was processed at the Sandwich Police Department and released with a future court date at the DeKalb County Court House in Sycamore, Illinois.
