On 07/12/26 Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of S. Main St. Upon further investigation it was determined that a battery took place between family members. Jelani K. Whitfield, 19 years old of Sandwich, Illinois, was placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery (Class 2 Felony), Mob Action (Class 4 Felony), and two counts of Domestic Battery (Class A Misdemeanor). Whitfield was processed and transported to the DeKalb County Jail in Sycamore, Illinois for housing.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
