On 01/31/26 Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of the 2800 block of N. 48th Rd, Sandwich. Upon further investigation it was suspected that the driver, Josef Bennett, 38 years old of Sugar Grove, Illinois, was under the influence. Bennett was placed under arrest and transported to the Sandwich Police Department for processing. Bennett was issued citations for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While License Suspended and released with a Notice to Appear at a future LaSalle County court date in Ottawa, Illinois.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
