On 09/30/23 Sandwich Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E 29th Rd and S. County Line Rd, Sandwich, relating to a moving violation. Upon further investigation it was found that the driver, Socorro Valdiviezo-Gonzalez, 51 of Sandwich, Illinois, possessed a baggy with a white powdery substance. During the course of contact the driver attempted to destroy the baggy of white powdery substance. It was also discovered that the driver possessed a suspended Illinois driver’s license and a Failure to Appear warrant out of Kendall County for a traffic offense. Socorro was placed under arrest and processed at the Sandwich Police Department. Socorro was charged with Obstructing Justice and Driving While License Suspended and released with a Notice to Appear at a future DeKalb County court date in Sycamore, Illinois. Socorro posted bond on the Kendall County warrant as was released with a future Kendall County court date in Yorkville, Illinois.
