On 07/27/24 Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Latham St. north of Sandhurst Dr, Sandwich. Officers smelled cannabis while making contact with the driver, William C. Torres, 19 years old of Sandwich, Illinois. The driver admitted to having cannabis in the vehicle. During the course of a probable cause search Officers found multiple packages of items that contained suspected cannabis. Torres was placed under arrest and transported to the Sandwich Police Department. Torres was charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (100-500 grams) and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver (100-500 grams). Torres was released with a Notice to Appear at a future DeKalb County court date in Sycamore.
