On 06/29/24 Officers responded to a vehicle accident at N. Castle St and W. Pleasant Ave, Sandwich. It was reported that one vehicle had left the scene. After seeking assistance from the community via social media, on 06/30/24 the driver that fled the scene voluntarily came to the Sandwich Police Department to speak with officers. Samuel Vinson, 24 years old of Aurora, Illinois, was arrested for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, processed, and released with a Notice to Appear at a future DeKalb County court date in Sycamore, Illinois.
