On 06/22/24 Officers responded to the area of E. Center St. and Washington St, Sandwich, for a fire. Upon arrival Officers found wooden railroad ties on fire. Officers quickly extinguished the fire. After further investigation it was determined that the railroad ties were intentionally set on fire by Armando Guzman, 35 years old of Sandwich, Illinois. Guzman was placed under arrest and transported to the DeKalb County Jail for housing. Guzman was charged with Arson (Class 2 Felony) and Trespass to Railroad Property.
